Built by hand. Powered by solidarity.
BaBaLift is an open-source movement engineered to dismantle isolation and restore independent human connection across communities. We build multi-seat, adaptive tandem frameworks entirely FROM RECYCLED PARTS AND REUSED MATERIALS, proving that global resourcefulness can fuel profound social integration. This prototype setup is purposefully crafted to lift absolutely anyone, including individuals with disabilities, the blind, the elderly, and children.
Chapter I: Design & Geometry Planning
01Every adaptive frame begins on standard graph paper, mapping exact weight distributions, front-fork rigidity ratios, and structural load metrics. Transitioning these blueprints into multi-color digital renders allows precise analysis of tube intersections and structural stress vectors.
Chapter II: Workshop & Fabrication
02Individual chassis tube sections are measured and cut by hand inside standard workshops using recycled components. Fusing connections outdoors with stick welding units guarantees that the structural frame achieves the resilience required to navigate rugged infrastructure routes safely.
Chapter III: Community Integration & Operations
03True mechanical validation happens out on public paths, logging kilometers that prove structural handling under real conditions while fostering spontaneous trust between co-riders.
About Us
Mission
To create inclusive, open-source mobility solutions that bring people together through shared journeys, freedom of movement and human connection.
Vision
A world where mobility is accessible, joyful and community-driven, built by people, for people.
Values
- Solidarity over profit: Prioritizing human dignity and communal wellness over financial structures.
- Human connection through movement: Breaking down historical social boundaries.
- Open-source creativity: Distributing technical blueprints freely.
- Reuse and sustainability: Hand-crafting from discarded parts.
- Universal inclusion: Tailoring geometry for everyone.
Goals
- Build affordable multi-seat bicycles using recycled materials
- Support mobility for children and people with disabilities
- Share open-source designs worldwide
- Train local communities in fabrication and repair
- Promoting Sustainable Tourism: Developing human-powered, low-carbon mobility solutions for experiential travel and local tours.
- Fostering Inclusive Community Tours: Creating accessible tandem cycles to ensure everyone can participate in outdoor excursions.
- Connect people through shared rides and collaborative journeys
- Expand the project across Africa, Europe and Asia
